The Legislative Assembly District of Penrith holds 59,899^ electors and occupies an area of 69 square kilometres. 

The State seat of Penrith was first contested in 1973 and was won by future Deputy Premier, The Hon. Ron Mulock MP.

It covers the land of the Darug nation.
